Finding Your Perfect Hunting Optic Just Got Personal

Introducing the XHunter Smart Selector: The data-driven way to choose Thermal and Night Vision gear.

Buying a thermal or night vision device is a serious investment. But with so many technical specs like NETD, Pixel Pitch, and Sensor Resolution, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. At XHunter AU, we’ve solved the problem.

Our new Smart Selector takes the guesswork out of the equation by matching your specific hunting style against our database of 300+ elite products.

How the Smart Selector Works

Our tool guides you through a few critical questions to understand your environment and goals.

1. Technology & Setup

Choose between heat-detecting Thermal Imaging or light-amplifying Digital Night Vision, and decide if you need a standalone scope, a handheld unit, or a clip-on.

XHunter Smart Selector Tech Choice Step 1: Selecting the right technology for your environment.

2. Primary Target & Distance

Whether you are chasing fast-moving foxes or large deer, the tool calculates the optimal field of view and magnification needed for success.

XHunter Smart Selector Target Selection Step 2: Defining your target for precision matching.

Decoding the Tech: Key Parameters Explained

When our system presents your results, you'll see several technical specs. Here is what they actually mean for your hunt:

NETD (Thermal Sensitivity) The lower the number (mk), the better. A sensor with <15mk can see tiny temperature differences in harsh fog or rain, while <25mk is standard for high-end clear night performance.
Pixel Pitch (µm) The distance between pixels. 12µm is the modern gold standard, allowing for higher magnification and clearer images in a more compact device compared to older 17µm sensors.
Sensor Resolution Think of this like your TV screen. 640x512 provides elite, professional detail for long distances, while 384x288 is a highly effective mid-range choice for most Aussie hunters.
Lens Size (Objective) A 50mm lens offers more magnification but a narrower view. A 25mm or 35mm lens gives a wider Field of View (FOV), making it much easier to track fast-moving pests at closer ranges.
