Arken TL3000 Specifications: What the Numbers Mean
Author: Chris | Updated: October 2026 | Reading Time: 8 Mins
Arken currently promotes the TARGETLOCK TL3000 with a maximum ranging figure of 3,000 yards and Kestrel connectivity. Those headlines are useful, but they are not a complete specification sheet. Australian buyers should check the final production document for target conditions, accuracy, dimensions, power, environmental ratings, laser classification and exact compatibility before treating the TL3000 as a finished comparison.
If you are still deciding whether the product category suits your needs, begin with the Arken TL3000 Australia buyer’s guide. This page has a narrower job: explaining how to read the TL3000 numbers without turning an early marketing claim into a performance guarantee.
Which Arken TL3000 Specifications Are Published?
At the time of writing, Arken’s official public material identifies the product as the TARGETLOCK TL3000 WMLRF. The manufacturer promotes two headline capabilities: a maximum ranging figure of 3,000 yards and Kestrel connectivity. Arken also places the TL3000 in the weapon-mounted ballistic laser rangefinder category.
Those points establish the product’s identity and intended category, but they do not answer every comparison question. A complete production specification should define the conditions behind the range claim and document the physical, electrical, environmental and compatibility details for the exact model.
| Specification field | Current reading | Status | What buyers should still check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product name | Arken TARGETLOCK TL3000 WMLRF | Confirmed identity | Match the name and part number on the final Australian listing. |
| Product format | Weapon-mounted laser rangefinder | Confirmed category | Check the production manual for documented host and mounting requirements. |
| Maximum ranging claim | 3,000 yards | Manufacturer claim | Target type, reflectivity, atmospheric conditions and accuracy limits. |
| Kestrel support | Connectivity advertised | Manufacturer claim | Exact supported models, Link requirement, firmware and exchanged data. |
| Dimensions and weight | Not established in the reviewed production documentation | Unconfirmed | Check whether quoted weight includes the battery, mount and accessories. |
| Battery and runtime | Not established | Unconfirmed | Battery type, quantity, included status and test conditions. |
| Environmental rating | Not established | Unconfirmed | Exact IP code, temperature limits and conditions. |
| Laser classification | Not established | Unconfirmed | Official classification, labelling and safety instructions. |
What Does the 3,000-Yard Claim Mean?
Three thousand yards equals approximately 2,743 metres. The conversion is exact enough for buyer comparison, but it does not provide independent proof that every object can be ranged at that distance.
Do not convert 3,000 yards into 3,000 metres
Yards and metres are different units. A listing that changes the claim to 3,000 metres would increase the distance by roughly 257 metres and would no longer match the original manufacturer figure.
A maximum range usually describes the outer limit achieved on a specified target under particular conditions. Large, reflective objects can return more laser energy than small, dark or irregular surfaces. Rain, haze, heat shimmer, target angle, hand or platform movement and foreground vegetation may also affect whether the sensor receives a usable return.
The most useful production specification would separate different target categories where applicable and explain the environmental and accuracy conditions. Until that information is available for the TL3000, buyers should not calculate an assumed animal range by applying a percentage to the 3,000-yard headline.
What the number can tell you
It identifies the maximum range Arken is advertising and provides a headline for comparing documented claims once conditions are available.
What the number cannot tell you
It does not guarantee performance on every target, in every weather condition, or at every angle. It also does not establish ranging accuracy across the full distance.
Maximum Range Is Not the Same as Ranging Accuracy
Maximum range asks whether the device can obtain a reading. Accuracy asks how close that reading is to the actual distance. A rangefinder may publish different accuracy tolerances for different distance bands, target types or modes.
When the production specification becomes available, read the accuracy statement with all of its qualifiers. Look for the unit of error, the distance interval to which it applies and any test conditions. Do not assume that an accuracy figure at short range remains unchanged at the advertised maximum.
Ranging accuracy should also not be confused with an overall shooting result. The distance measurement is one input. It cannot, by itself, validate the host equipment, environmental information, user inputs or other variables. For that reason, this guide explains specification language without providing firing corrections or ballistic configuration steps.
How to Read Size, Power and Environmental Ratings
Dimensions and weight
Published dimensions should state the measurement order and whether projections, controls or mounts are included. Weight should specify whether it is measured with the battery, mounting hardware and supplied accessories. A bare-device figure and a ready-to-use figure are not interchangeable.
Battery type and runtime
Battery information should identify the exact chemistry, size, quantity and whether batteries are supplied in the Australian package. Runtime claims need test conditions such as temperature, display settings, connectivity and measurement frequency. A number of measurements is not the same as continuous operating hours.
Ingress protection and temperature limits
Words such as “weather-resistant” and “waterproof” are not substitutes for a documented rating. An IP code describes specific dust and water tests; it does not make a device immune to every environment. Operating and storage temperature ranges should also be read separately.
Laser class and labelling
Do not assume that a laser is “eye-safe” from its product category or wavelength. Use the classification and safety instructions printed on the final product and in the applicable manual. Australian buyers should also check any rules relevant to possession, transport and use in their jurisdiction and intended setting.
What Does Kestrel Connectivity Actually Confirm?
Arken’s public wording indicates that the TL3000 is intended to connect with Kestrel equipment. It does not, by itself, prove that every Kestrel model works with the device.
A reliable compatibility statement should identify:
- the exact supported Kestrel models;
- whether Kestrel Link functionality is required;
- minimum firmware or software versions;
- the official TL3000 app or interface, if any;
- supported phone operating systems and regional app availability;
- which measurements or solution data can be transferred;
- whether accounts, subscriptions or separately sold devices are required.
Bluetooth appearing in a generic product description would not be enough to establish compatibility. Buyers planning around an existing Kestrel should match its exact model and firmware to an official TL3000 compatibility document before ordering.
TL3000 Specification Checklist Before You Buy
Use this list when the final product page and manual become available:
- Identity: match the product name, generation, colour, SKU and manufacturer part number.
- Range: find the target type and conditions behind the 3,000-yard maximum.
- Accuracy: note the tolerance, unit and applicable distance band.
- Physical data: check dimensions and whether weight includes the battery and mount.
- Power: confirm battery type, included status and runtime test method.
- Protection: record the exact IP and temperature ratings without replacing them with broader marketing terms.
- Laser: read the official classification, labels and safety instructions.
- Compatibility: match external devices, app, operating system and firmware by exact version.
- Package: use the written Australian packing list rather than product photography.
- Commercial terms: check current Australian price, availability, delivery, returns and support on the exact Xhunter listing.
Check the Current TL3000 Product Information
Review the exact Xhunter listing for current availability and package information. Check Black and FDE separately because commercial details may differ even when the core product is shared.
