Is the GrovTec GTSL45 Nylon Web Sling suitable for wearing over bulky cold-weather clothing?

Yes, this sling features an extended universal length of 72 inches, which provides plenty of extra webbing compared to standard 36 or 48-inch slings. This makes it ideal for comfortable cross-body carry when wearing heavy winter layers or tactical vests in the field.

What size sling swivel loops do I need to attach the GrovTec GTSL45 sling to my rifle?

The GTSL45 is specifically designed to fit 1.25-inch sling swivel loops or attachment interfaces. It will not feed properly through standard 1.0-inch loops without binding or folding, so you will need to ensure your firearm is equipped with 1.25-inch hardware such as standard QD or Uncle Mike's style swivels.

Are sling swivels included with the GrovTec GTSL45 Universal Sling?

No, sling swivels are not integrated into the webbing and must be purchased separately. If you are setting up specific firearms, you can pair it with compatible hardware from our range such as the GrovTec GTHM289 Heavy Duty Push Button QD Sling Swivel Bases.

How well does the nylon webbing hold up in wet Australian bush conditions?

The sling is constructed from heavy-duty, moisture-resistant nylon webbing with polymer tri-glide hardware, making it fully rot-resistant and dependable in damp environments. It handles wet weather without absorbing moisture or fraying, making it a reliable zero-bulk choice for outback and bush hunting.

Rifle Sling - GrovTec GTSL45

The GrovTec Utility Nylon Web Sling (model GTSL45) is a minimalist, two-point carry system designed for rifles, shotguns, and muzzleloaders. Built from heavy-duty, moisture-resistant black nylon webbing, it provides a low-profile, snag-free carrying solution that resists rot, mildew, and fraying in wet outdoor environments. With an extended length of 72 inches (approximately 182.9 cm) and a width of 1.25 inches (approximately 31.8 mm), it offers extra adjustability compared to standard slings for cross-body carry, layering over bulky outdoor clothing, or use as a field-expedient shooting support.

Key Features

Extended 72-Inch Universal Length: Delivers significant adjustability for wearing across the body, clearing chest rigs, or accommodating heavy cold-weather apparel.
Weather-Resistant Webbing: High-tensile nylon construction prevents water absorption, rot, and degradation in damp or rainy hunting conditions.
Low-Profile Two-Point Design: Eliminates unnecessary bulk, padding, and snag points for reliable utility in the field, on the farm, or at the range.
Polymer Hardware: Integrated tri-glide sliders allow smooth length adjustment and secure retention without marring firearm finishes.

Who is the Grovtec Nylon Web Sling - Universal 72x1¼ - Black for?

Hunters wearing heavy outer layers — Requires the extended 72 inches of length provided by this universal rifle web sling to enable comfortable cross-body carry over bulky winter jackets and chest equipment.
Shooters running wide attachment interfaces — Needs a 1.25-inch wide web sling that matches 1.25-inch sling swivel loops precisely without sliding or bunching side-to-side during carry.
Wet-weather and farm utility users — Demands a non-absorbent, rot-resistant 1.25-inch nylon sling that sheds moisture and eliminates bulk during continuous outdoor field use.

Less suitable for: Long-range precision rigs over approximately 4.5 to 5 kg carried on multi-hour pack hunts, which are better served by a dedicated padded sling to distribute weight, or firearms fitted with standard 1.0-inch loops where the 1.25-inch webbing will bind and fold.
