The Hawke Honeycomb Sunshade (Model 62109) is a passive, thread-mounted optical accessory designed for riflescopes with a 50mm non-adjustable objective (non-AO) lens from the 2015 collection onwards. Built with an internal micro-cellular grid, this killflash sunshade eliminates front lens glint and blocks off-axis ambient light to reduce internal glare when aiming toward bright horizons or reflective terrain. Measuring just 9 mm in depth, it provides effective reflection control without adding front-heavy bulk or snagging during field transport.

Key Features

• Anti-Reflection Killflash Grid: The micro-cellular internal honeycomb pattern prevents sunlight from reflecting off the front objective element, stopping flash and lens glint from alerting game.
• Off-Axis Glare Mitigation: Blocks stray, off-angle light to reduce internal scope barrel flaring when shooting over water, snow, or toward sunrise and sunset angles.
• Ultra-Compact Form Factor: Extends the scope profile by only 9 mm, avoiding the front-heavy balance shifts and snag hazards associated with traditional 50 mm tubular sunshades.
• Durable Construction: Machined from lightweight aluminium with a non-reflective matte black finish to match standard riflescope bodies.

Who is the Hawke Sunshade Honeycombe 50mm for?

• Pest Control Operators — managing feral pigs, foxes, and wild dogs across open terrain who need this 50mm riflescope honeycomb sunshade to eliminate lens reflections during bright daylight without extending the rifle's barrel profile.
• Hunters — stalking skittish target game who rely on the compact 9 mm depth of this killflash sunshade to maintain optical concealment without adding tubular bulk that catches on brush or gun bags.

Less suitable for: Riflescopes with a 50mm Adjustable Objective (AO) mechanism (which require a dedicated 62110 model), 24mm scopes, Frontier 30 series, XB/XB1 crossbow scopes, or setups requiring stacked screw-in flip-up covers; users with pre-2015 Sidewinder or pre-2019 Frontier models require a dedicated thread adaptor, while extreme twilight shooters may prefer open optical glass or standard wide-aperture tubular sunshades to maximize low-light transmission.
