Will the Hawke 16-inch neoprene cover fit my Hawke Sidewinder 6-24x56 FFP riflescope?

Yes, this 16-inch (41 cm) cover model 99215 is specifically designed to accommodate large-chassis optical configurations such as the Hawke Sidewinder 6-24x56 FFP series. It provides a secure, stretch-fit over both the objective bell and ocular piece without requiring you to remove your scope mounts.

How does the neoprene material perform during dusty or wet outback Australian hunts?

The weather-resistant neoprene material acts as an effective barrier against fine outback dust, mud, and rain while stalking through dense Australian brush. It cushions your scope against bumps and scratches during transport, though it is designed for soft environmental protection and is not waterproof under full submersion.

What is the maximum scope length this cover can accommodate before overstretching?

This model is rated for riflescopes up to a maximum overall length of 16 inches (41 cm). If your scope exceeds this threshold, the neoprene will be overly stretched and may fail to properly enclose both ends of the optics.

Are there any special firearm accessory regulations or electrical certifications required to use this cover in Australia?

No special permits or regulatory compliance certificates are needed. As a completely passive textile accessory containing no electronic components, electrical certifications like SAA or RCM do not apply, and it is unrestricted for shooting use across all Australian states and territories.

Scope Cover - Hawke 99215 41cm

The Hawke Neoprene Scope Cover (Model 99215) provides impact, scratch, and weather protection for mounted rifle optics during transit, storage, and field hunting. Manufactured from flexible, weather-resistant neoprene in matte black, this slip-on cover stretches over the scope chassis to shield external adjustment turrets, the scope body, and optical glass from rain, dust, mud, and transit abrasion. It allows for quick detachment when preparing for a shot while eliminating the bulk of rigid transport cases.

Key Features

Elastic Slip-On Design: Flexible neoprene stretches snugly over mounted optics and can be quickly pulled off when transitioning to a shooting position.
Environmental & Debris Shield: Prevents rain, dust, dirt, and trail debris from accumulating on the objective and ocular lenses while moving through thick terrain.
Cushioned Chassis Protection: Soft material absorbs light superficial bumps and guards the scope tube and turrets against scratching during vehicle transport or safe storage.
Target & Varmint Optic Compatibility: Sized to accommodate large-chassis long-range optics, including Hawke Sidewinder and Frontier configurations (compatible with Hawke model SKUs 13341, 18440, 18441, 18640, 18641, 17270, 17271, 14297, 14260, and 14261).

Who is the Hawke Neoprene Scope Cover 41cm for?

Long-Range Target and Varmint Shooters — Requires an extended 16-inch (41 cm) cover envelope to protect large-chassis optics, high-magnification bells, and exposed target turrets from transit abrasion without having to unmount the scope.
Field Hunters Stalking Dense Brush — Needs a quick-detach neoprene riflescope cover measuring 16 inches (41 cm) in length that shields vulnerable lenses and external adjustments from abrasive foliage, mud, and moisture until a shot presents itself.

Less suitable for: Riflescopes exceeding 16 inches (41 cm) in total length, which require an extra-long extended optic guard to prevent overstretching the material, or compact optics under 14 to 15 inches that require a dedicated shorter 14-inch or 15-inch neoprene cover to avoid excess slack and snagging.
