The HKS Model CA-44 Speedloader (MPN: CA44) is a mechanical reloading accessory engineered to load five .44 S&W Special cartridges simultaneously into compatible revolver cylinders. Constructed with a high-density injection-moulded Delrin polymer body, steel retention pins, and an anodised aluminium knurled knob, it secures cartridges by their rims to prevent premature release during carry. The M-Series design incorporates engineered cartridge play to assist self-alignment into the chambers, releasing all five rounds instantly with a single manual twist of the knob.

Key Features

• Simultaneous Chambering: Drops 5 rounds directly into the cylinder at once using a manual twist-release mechanism, eliminating individual round loading.
• Mechanical Retention: Uses internal steel locking pins to hold .44 Special cartridge rims firmly in place without relying on spring tension.
• Engineered Alignment Play: Features deliberate cartridge wiggle within the Delrin body to facilitate smooth entry into cylinder chambers.
• Compact and Lightweight: Weighs approximately 27.2 g unladen, adding minimal bulk when carried on the range or in pouches.

Who is the HKS CA-44 Speedloader for?

• Smith & Wesson Model 696 target shooters — Provides a dedicated 5-round capacity loader that matches the specific chamber spacing of L-frame .44 S&W Special cylinders while adding just ~27.2 g of carry weight per unit.
• Charter Arms Bulldog .44 owners participating in range training — Delivers a secure rotary lock that holds 5 rounds of .44 S&W Special ammunition firmly until the manual release knob is turned, preventing dropped cartridges between firing strings.
• Revolver sporting match competitors using 5-shot .44 Special platforms — Offers rapid simultaneous chambering across 5 rounds via engineered cartridge alignment play to reduce reload times in non-push-style revolver disciplines.

Less suitable for: Revolvers requiring a 6-round capacity or larger frame geometries (such as the S&W Model 29/629); these platforms require a dedicated 6-shot large-bore revolver speedloader.
