The Napier Apex Ready Sled (Model: N8003) is a compact, non-powered game extraction drag sled designed to recover field-dressed medium-to-large game across rough terrain where vehicle access is restricted. Weighing 2.0 kg as a complete kit, it packs into its own carry bag and waist belt for convenient transport during a stalk. In the field, the sled wraps around a field-dressed carcass to form a protective envelope that shields meat from soil, mud, and debris while sliding over grass, leaves, and forest floors via bonded EVA skids.

Key Features

• Load-Relief Drag System: Directs mechanical hauling tension through an 8.0-metre heavy-duty drag rope and heavy-duty carabiners attached directly to a 2.5-metre steel cable noose around the animal, bypassing the sled fabric seams.
• Hygienic Extraction Envelope: Wraps around the carcass to seal gralloched game away from dirt, grit, and ground contaminants during manual recovery.
• Ultra-Slippery EVA Skids: Integrates flexible skids bonded to webbing to minimise ground friction across steep gullies, mud, and thick scrub.
• Multi-Configuration Hauling: Accommodates solo manual pulling via the integrated waist-drag belt, two-person team extraction, or attachment to a mechanical vehicle winch line.

Who is the Napier Apex Ready Sled for?

• Solo deer stalkers — Requires a 2.0 kg packable game extraction drag sled that can haul sambar, red, fallow, or chital carcasses weighing up to 150 kg out of steep gullies hands-free using the integrated waist harness.
• Feral pig hunters — Needs an 8.0-metre drag rope paired with a 2.5-metre steel cable noose to secure and winch game carcasses up to 150 kg out of thick scrub terrain without contaminating dressed meat.

Less suitable for: Carcasses exceeding 150 kg total weight, which require rigid towable sleds, motorised extraction rigs, or multi-part breakdown packs; or small game under ~30 kg, where lighter roe sacks or bumbag systems are more compact for carry-out.
