The Norma .338 Norma Magnum 300gr Sierra HPBT MatchKing (MPN: 20185272) is precision factory-loaded match centerfire rifle ammunition supplied in a 20-round box. Built specifically around the heavy 300 gr (19.44 g) Sierra MatchKing Hollow Point Boat Tail projectile, this cartridge optimizes case capacity and overall length for Extreme Long Range (ELR) disciplines. Featuring concentric match jackets with jacket wall variation held to 0.0003" and bullet weight tolerances of ±0.3 gr, this factory ammunition generates a muzzle velocity of approximately 2,660 fps (811 m/s) with a Cartridge Overall Length (COL) of 93.5 mm (3.681 in) for flat trajectories and reduced wind drift.

Key Features

• Optimised Match Projectile: Loaded with a 300-grain Sierra MatchKing HPBT projectile featuring a low-drag boat-tail profile for high ballistic coefficient and consistent transonic stability.
• Precision Tolerances: Manufactured with jacket wall thickness variation held to 0.0003" and tight weight tolerances within ±0.3 grains.
• Premium Boxer-Primed Cases: Loaded into reloadable, premium brass cases engineered to withstand high chamber pressures.
• ELR Ballistic Velocity: Factory-rated at 2,660 fps (811 m/s) muzzle velocity from standard test barrels to maintain supersonic flight at extreme target distances.

Who is the Norma 338 Norma Mag 300gr Sierra HPBT 20 Pack for?

• Extreme long-range target shooters — engaging distant steel or paper targets from 1,000 metres out to beyond 1,800 metres with a heavy 300 gr Sierra MatchKing projectile travelling at 2,660 fps to minimise wind deflection.
• Precision rifle competitors — competing in long-range tactical and target match disciplines that require uniform 20-round factory-loaded .338 Norma Magnum match ammunition with tight ±0.3 gr bullet weight tolerances.

Less suitable for: Target engagements inside 600 to 800 metres where smaller calibres (such as 6.5mm or .308-calibre match ammunition) offer reduced recoil and lower operating costs; medium-to-large game hunting requiring expanding hunting projectiles, as non-expanding Sierra MatchKing target bullets lack controlled terminal expansion; or rifles with barrel twist rates slower than 1:10" (such as 1:12") which cannot stabilize 300-grain projectiles. Incompatible with firearms chambered for .338 Lapua Magnum, .338 Winchester Magnum, or standard .30-calibre actions.
