The Norma ECOSTRIKE .300 Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) 165 gr (MPN: 20177512) is a premium, lead-free centerfire rifle cartridge engineered for medium-to-large game hunting. Packaged in boxes of 20 rounds, it features a monolithic, nickel-coated copper bullet with an aerodynamic polymer expansion tip and a boat tail design. Fired from a standard 24-inch (610 mm) test barrel, this cartridge generates a muzzle velocity of 3,084 fps (940 m/s) and a muzzle energy of 3,484 ft-lbs (4,727 Joules). It maintains supersonic speed and high terminal energy downrange, delivering 724 m/s (2,432 fps) and 2,804 Joules (2,167 ft-lbs) at 300 metres with a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.431.

Key Features

• Monolithic Copper Construction: Built from solid copper with a nickel coating to eliminate lead contamination, retain nearly 100% of projectile weight on impact, and reduce barrel copper fouling.
• Polymer Expansion Tip: Initiates rapid, controlled mushrooming across varied impact velocities while enhancing the bullet's aerodynamic efficiency.
• Long-Range Ballistics: Features a boat tail base and a 0.431 G1 ballistic coefficient, establishing a recommended zero distance (MRD) of 191 metres (213 yards).
• Reloadable Components: Loaded with non-corrosive Boxer primers in reloadable, high-grade brass cases.

Who is the Norma ECOSTRIKE .300 WSM 165gr for?

• Medium-to-large game hunters using short-action rifles — Delivers 3,484 ft-lbs of muzzle energy and a high-velocity 3,084 fps muzzle speed from short-action .300 WSM rifle platforms to ensure deep penetration and wide expansion on game such as deer and feral boar.
• Hunters operating in lead-free hunting zones — Features a 165-grain solid copper projectile that complies with non-toxic hunting mandates while maintaining a flat trajectory via a 0.431 G1 ballistic coefficient.

Less suitable for: Small game or varmint pest hunting where this 3,484 ft-lbs cartridge is excessively destructive (lighter-calibre fragmenting ammunition is better suited), very large dangerous or safari game requiring heavier-mass solid or soft-point bullets, and rifles chambered in standard .300 Win Mag or .308 Win due to cartridge dimensional incompatibility.
