The Norma ECOSTRIKE .300 PRC 165 Grain ammunition (MPN: 20177772) is a factory-loaded centerfire rifle cartridge designed for medium to large game hunting. Built with a monolithic copper, nickel-plated bullet featuring a polymer tip and boat-tail design, this ammunition delivers controlled expansion and deep penetration without lead fragmentation. Fired from a standard 610 mm (24-inch) test barrel, the 165 gr projectile achieves a muzzle velocity of 970 m/s (3,182 fps) and a muzzle energy of 5,034 J (3,710 ft-lbs), maintaining 3,017 J of energy at 300 metres.

Key Features

• Lead-Free Monolithic Construction: Solid copper body provides nearly 100% weight retention on impact, preventing meat contamination and core-jacket separation.
• Polymer Tip: Initiates rapid, uniform terminal expansion across both short-range velocities and extended distances.
• Nickel-Plated Finish: Reduces copper fouling inside the rifle barrel during repeated firing sequences.
• Long-Range Ballistics: Features a 0.431 G1 ballistic coefficient with a factory recommended zero distance (MRD) of 197 metres.
• Standard Box Packaging: Supplied in 20-round boxes for hunting and zeroing applications.

Who is the Norma ECOSTRIKE .300 PRC 165gr for?

• Medium to large game hunters — requires high-velocity impact and deep penetration for animals such as feral pigs, fallow deer, red deer, sambar deer, and scrub bulls, delivered by a muzzle velocity of 3,182 fps (970 m/s) in a .300 PRC hunting cartridge.
• Hunters requiring lead-free ammunition — relies on a 165 gr monolithic copper polymer-tipped projectile with a 0.431 G1 ballistic coefficient to achieve terminal expansion and nearly 100% weight retention without lead meat contamination.

Less suitable for: Firearm platforms chambered in standard .300 Winchester Magnum, .300 WSM, or .30-06 Springfield, which cannot safely chamber or fire .300 PRC ammunition; rifles with these actions require caliber-specific factory hunting cartridges engineered to their exact chamber dimensions.
