The Pachmayr Colt 1911 American Legend Grip combines the traditional appearance of finished hardwood laminate with the shock-absorbing performance of Decelerator rubber. Engineered specifically for full-size 1911 single-stack frames, this hybrid grip features checkered Pacwood laminate side panels bonded to a wraparound rubber front-strap with moulded finger grooves. This design provides positive finger indexing and enhanced recoil dampening across standard calibres such as .45 ACP, 9mm Luger, .38 Super, and 10mm Auto while retaining the classic aesthetic of wood grain.

Key Features

• Hybrid Material Design: Combines polished Rosewood-finish laminate side panels with Pachmayr Decelerator rubber for rigid structural support and recoil reduction.
• Ergonomic Front-Strap: Integrated rubber finger grooves wrap around the front-strap to ensure consistent hand placement and grip security during rapid fire.
• Safety and Pin Clearances: Features pre-cut reliefs to accommodate extended ambidextrous thumb safeties and allow access to the standard mainspring housing pin.
• Checkered Side Panels: Diamond-pattern checkering cut into the wood panels delivers positive lateral traction without excessive abrasiveness.

Who is the Pachmayr Colt 1911 American Legend Grip for?

• Target Shooters: Benefits precision shooting on full-size 5" barrel 1911 Government models, where the 110–140 g hybrid wood-rubber grip absorbs recoil and provides consistent hand seating across long range sessions.
• IPSC and Practical Pistol Competitors: Delivers rapid indexing and consistent weapon control under recoil on full-size 5" or Commander-length 1911 frames via the integrated front-strap finger grooves.
• Handgun Owners Upgrading Aesthetics: Enhances the classic appearance of standard full-size 5" 1911 pistols without sacrificing modern recoil-damping performance by using bonded rosewood laminate.

Less suitable for: Shooters using compact Officer-sized frames or wide-body double-stack 2011 frames, which require dedicated compact or wide-frame grip panels due to differing grip screw spacing and frame dimensions.
