What is the best way to fill the Quake Front X-Large H-Bag, and what does it weigh once filled?

The Quake 91007-7 ships empty and features a convenient YKK zippered fill port for easy loading. Depending on your preference, filling it with standard dense playground sand typically yields a final weight of 4 to 8 kg for maximum bench stability, while lightweight options like plastic pellets or rubber regrind reduce carrying weight.

How does the H-style geometry on this Quake shooting rest help with heavy recoil and muzzle jump?

The signature H-shaped cross-section design is engineered to wrap around your rifle forend naturally under the weight of the firearm. This self-tightening configuration securely cradles the stock to effectively dampen lateral wobble and muzzle jump during precision benchrest zeroing without needing a rigid mechanical vise.

Is the Quake Front X-Large H-Bag suitable for mobile outback hunting or active stalking?

While it excels on static shooting benches, permanent hunting hides, and vehicle tailgates, its dimensions of approximately 11 inches L by 12 inches W by 11 inches H and heavier filled weight make it less ideal for mobile foot stalking. For active hunting or long-distance movement through Australian bushland, shooters should switch to compact rear bags or rifle-mounted bipods.

What accessories pair well with this bag for outback range sessions or transport?

To easily transport your filled H-bag to and from the shooting bench, you can pair it with the Quake Terragrip Bag Carry Strap for secure and comfortable handling. Additionally, the bag features dual integrated side pouches that are perfect for holding small tools, spent brass, or extra rounds during zeroing sessions.

Shooting Rest - Quake 91007-7

The Quake Front X-Large H-Bag (Empty) is a specialised front rifle shooting rest designed to provide a stable, self-tightening platform for static shooting applications. Constructed with an "H" cross-section profile, this rest uses the downward weight of the firearm to wrap around the stock, dampening muzzle jump and reducing lateral wobble during benchrest target shooting and rifle zeroing. Made from briar-proof, water-resistant nylon with a non-slip textured rubberised base, it is supplied unfilled to give users complete control over the final bench weight and media density.

Key Features

Self-Tightening H-Geometry: Channels firearm weight into a firm cradle grip around standard hunting forends, tactical wide stocks, and shotguns to minimize recoil movement.
Custom Media Loading: Features a secure YKK zippered fill port allowing the use of dense media like sand for stationary bench stability or lightweight polymer fill for portability.
Integrated Storage: Includes dual side accessory pouches designed to hold loose ammunition, spent brass, or small maintenance tools.
Heavy-Duty Construction: Built from water-resistant, briar-proof nylon fabric with reinforced grab handles for repositioning on shooting benches or platforms.

Who is the Quake Front X-Large H-Bag for?

Precision Rifle Zeroing and Target Shooters — Provides an expanded 11″ L × 12″ W × 11″ H filled footprint that forms a self-tightening cradle to stabilise heavy recoil across static shooting benches.
Hunters Shooting from Permanent Hides, Blinds, or Vehicle Tailgates — Offers a lightweight transport weight of approximately 0.33 kg empty that packs down flat to ~39 cm × 33 cm × 4 cm before filling with local media for stationary field rests.

Less suitable for: Mobile stalking or active PRS movement on foot over long distances, where large-footprint rests are too bulky; shooters requiring dynamic mobility should switch to compact hand-squeezable rear bags, pint-sized barricade bags, or rifle-mounted bipods.
