The Sellier & Bellot .45 Auto (.45 ACP) 230 Grain Full Metal Jacket bulk pack provides reliable factory-loaded ammunition engineered specifically for paper, cardboard, and steel target practice. Featuring standard-pressure loading that produces a muzzle velocity of approximately 853 fps (260 m/s) and 504 J of muzzle energy from a 5-inch test barrel, this ammunition pairs a non-expanding lead core with a CuZn 10 alloy jacket to prevent barrel leading and ensure smooth cycling in semi-automatic handguns. Each pack contains 140 rounds loaded into boxer-primed, reloadable drawn brass cases with non-corrosive standard large pistol primers.

Key Features

• Bullet Construction: 230 grain full metal jacket (FMJ) projectile with a lead core and CuZn 10 (tombac/brass alloy) jacket to reduce bore fouling.
• Subsonic Ballistics: Achieves a muzzle velocity of 853 fps (260 m/s) and 504 J (371–372 ft-lbs) of muzzle energy from a 5-inch barrel with a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.194 to 0.213.
• Reloadable Components: Drawn brass cartridge cases measuring 1.274 inches (32.36 mm) overall length, paired with non-corrosive Boxer primers.
• Bulk Packaging: Supplied in a 140-round loose bulk pack designed for high-volume club training sessions.

Who is the S&B Sellier & Bellot 45 Auto (45 Acp) 230 Grain Fmj Ammo 140 Rd Bulk Pack for?

• Dynamic sports shooters engaging in IPSC or Steel Challenge disciplines — Requires consistent cycling and recoil management in semi-automatic handguns, which this 45 ACP target ammunition delivers via a heavy 230 grain projectile driven at a stable muzzle velocity of 853 fps.
• Handgun club members practicing at distances under 50 metres — Benefits from a reliable 140 rounds bulk pack that provides uniform trajectory and low barrel fouling on paper and steel targets within standard pistol range envelopes.

Less suitable for: Target engagements beyond 50 metres where the heavy 230-grain subsonic bullet experiences steep trajectory drop, or game harvesting where non-expanding FMJ ammunition is legally and ethically unsuitable; flat-shooting high-velocity rifle cartridges or expanding hunting-specific projectiles fit those situations better.
