The Sellier & Bellot .308 Win HPBT 180 gr Target Match Ammunition is engineered for long-range sport shooting disciplines, delivering consistent velocity and tight group dispersion. Built around a 180-grain (11.70 g) Hollow Point Boat-Tail projectile with a CuZn 10 jacket, this factory round develops a muzzle velocity of 800 m/s and 3,744 J of muzzle energy from a standard 600 mm test barrel. Loaded in reloadable brass cases with non-corrosive boxer primers, it maintains standard SAAMI and CIP chamber pressure levels across an overall cartridge length of 71.10 mm.

Key Features

• Hollow Point Boat-Tail Projectile: Combines an aerodynamic meplat with a tapered base to achieve a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.488 (G7 of 0.246) and a sectional density of 0.271 lb/in² for reduced drag and wind drift.
• Consistent Downrange Velocity: Generates an initial velocity of 800 m/s (~2,625 fps) with published trajectory tables providing flight data out to 1,000 metres and a Most Effective Range (MRD) of 166 metres.
• Reloadable Match Components: Assembled in brass cartridge cases utilizing standard non-corrosive boxer primers for consistent ignition and case life.
• Optimised Barrel Compatibility: Ballistically matched for rifles with 1:10" to 1:11" rifling twist rates to ensure full projectile stability.

Who is the S&B Sellier & Bellot 308 Win 180 Grain Hpbt Match Ammo 20 Rd for?

• F-Class and long-range precision competitive shooters — seeking sustained velocity and reduced wind deflection at extended distances, supported by this 308 Winchester match ammunition's aerodynamic 180-grain HPBT projectile with a 0.488 G1 ballistic coefficient.
• Target paper punchers using 308 Winchester platforms — requiring tight shot-to-shot consistency and precise cycling from standard-length magazines, facilitated by this match ammunition's factory-regulated 71.10 mm overall cartridge length and consistent 800 m/s muzzle velocity.

Less suitable for: Rifles with slower rifling such as standard 1:12" or 1:13" twist barrels, which require lighter 168-grain or 175-grain HPBT match loads to properly stabilise; and live game hunting or pest mitigation, which requires dedicated expanding soft point ammunition rather than non-expanding hollow point match bullets.
