What are the exact physical dimensions and ballistic coefficient of the S&B .430 240 Grain SP bullets?

These component bullets feature a precise diameter of .430 inches, a weight of 240 grains (15.55 grams), and a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.177. They are engineered with a CuZn 10 brass jacket and an exposed lead soft point designed specifically for handloading .44-calibre cartridges.

What is the recommended maximum effective engagement range when hunting with these soft point bullets?

These bullets are optimised for close-to-moderate brush ranges under 100 metres. Due to their blunt aerodynamic profile and a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.177, velocity and energy decay rapidly past 100 to 125 metres, making them best suited for target work or bush hunting within that envelope.

Are these S&B projectiles complete loaded cartridges or reloading components?

These are unprimed, uncharged component projectiles sold in a box of 50 bullets, intended strictly for handloading. They contain no explosive propellant or primers, meaning they require a separate reloading press, brass cases, powder, and primers to assemble into functional ammunition.

Do these reloading bullets require any electrical compliance certification for use in Australia?

No electrical compliance such as 240V, SAA, or RCM certification is applicable because these are inert metallic reloading components containing no electrical circuits or moving parts. However, purchase and possession remain subject to state and territory firearms legislation regarding ammunition components.

44 Cal Reloading Bullets - S&B V319522

The Sellier & Bellot .430 Caliber 240 Grain Semi-Jacketed Soft Point Bullets (MPN: V319522) are component projectiles engineered for handloading .44-calibre firearm cartridges, such as .44 Remington Magnum and .44 S&W Special. Manufactured in the Czech Republic, these reloading bullets feature an alloyed lead core paired with a CuZn 10 brass jacket. The semi-jacketed soft point construction leaves an exposed lead nose designed for controlled terminal expansion and energy transfer, while the brass jacket reinforces the shank and base to support stable flight and clean rifling engagement.

Key Features

Controlled Terminal Expansion: The exposed lead soft point mushrooms reliably upon impact, delivering decisive energy transfer on game without premature fragmentation.
Durable Brass Jacket: Constructed with a CuZn 10 alloy jacket that stabilizes the 240-grain projectile during transit through the barrel and maintains structural integrity upon impact.
Optimised Cartridge Compatibility: Sized specifically with a .430-inch diameter for reloading .44 Remington Magnum and .44 S&W Special cases.
Convenient Packaging: Supplied in a pack of 50 inert component projectiles, ideal for targeted batch development and trial load testing.

Who is the S&B Sellier & Bellot .430 44 Cal 240 Grain Sp Bullets 50 Pack for?

Feral Pig and Deer Hunters — Requires a heavy, expanding projectile designed to deliver maximum hydrostatic shock at close-to-moderate brush ranges, which these .44 caliber reloading bullets provide via an exposed soft point profile weighing 240 grains.
Metallic Silhouette and Target Competitors — Needs consistent projectile dimensions for developing accurate handgun or lever-action rifle target loads, supported by this pack of 50 bullets featuring a uniform .430-inch diameter and a 0.177 G1 ballistic coefficient.

Less suitable for: Target engagements beyond 100 to 125 metres, where the low 0.177 G1 ballistic coefficient results in rapid velocity and trajectory decay; hunters targeting game at longer distances require higher-BC, spitzer-style rifle hunting bullets. Additionally, this exposed-lead projectile is unsuitable for jurisdictions mandating non-toxic, monolithic copper ammunition.
