The Sellier & Bellot 7mm Rem. Mag. 140 Grain SP (Model: V332772) is factory-loaded centre-fire hunting ammunition designed for chamber-specific 7mm Remington Magnum bolt-action and single-shot rifles. Featuring a 140-grain (9.10 g) semi-jacketed soft point bullet with a lead core and CuZn 10 tombac jacket, this round generates an initial muzzle velocity of 958 m/s (3,143 fps) and 4,176 J of muzzle energy from a standard 610 mm (24-inch) test barrel. Engineered for medium to large game hunting in open terrain, it provides controlled mushrooming, rapid energy transfer, and a flat trajectory out to medium distances.

Key Features

• Controlled Terminal Expansion: Utilises an exposed lead soft point with bullet design #2931 to ensure reliable upsetting, mushrooming, and high weight retention in game tissues.
• High-Velocity Trajectory: Pushes a 140 gr projectile at a muzzle velocity of 958 m/s, yielding a factory Most Recommended Distance (MRD) zero of 183 m.
• Reloadable Components: Built with factory-new standard Boxer-primed reloadable brass cases with an overall cartridge length of 78.80 mm.
• Downrange Energy: Retains 3,051 J of kinetic energy at 100 m and 2,171 J at 200 m for ethical stopping power on medium game.

Who is the S&B Sellier & Bellot 7mm Rem Mag 140 Grain Sp Ammo 20 Rd for?

• Open-country deer hunters — Delivers a flat trajectory for targeting red deer, fallow deer, and chital deer at open-terrain distances with a 140-grain soft-point projectile launching at 958 m/s from 7mm Rem Mag hunting rifles.
• Feral pig and goat cullers — Provides rapid energy dump and reliable expansion with 4,176 J of muzzle energy and a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.231, making this 7mm Rem Mag ammunition effective for immediate knockdown at medium engagement ranges.

Less suitable for: Long-range shooting beyond 300 to 400 metres, where its 0.231 G1 ballistic coefficient allows velocity to drop below 600 m/s around 280 to 300 metres (boat-tail polymer-tipped or high-BC projectile designs fit this better); and heavy, thick-skinned large game like large sambar stags or feral buffalo, where standard 140-grain soft points can shed weight rapidly at high impact velocities (heavier 173 to 175-grain bonded or monolithic ammunition fits this better).
