What rings do I need to mount the Sightron SI G2 3-9x40mm riflescope on my rifle?

This riflescope features a standard 1-inch main tube diameter, meaning you will need standard 1-inch rifle scope rings to securely mount it to your firearm. Its lightweight 13.6 oz construction ensures that standard rings will easily support the optic without adding unnecessary bulk to your hunting setup.

How does the fixed parallax perform for typical Australian bush hunting distances?

The factory parallax on the Sightron SI G2 3-9x40mm is permanently fixed at 100 yards, creating an ideal operational sweet spot for standard medium-range shooting between 50 and 300 yards. For close-range shooting under 50 yards or dedicated long-range precision past 400-500 yards, a scope featuring adjustable objective or side parallax focus would be required instead.

Will this Sightron riflescope handle the heavy recoil of standard hunting calibres used in Australia?

Yes, this model is rigorously tested and rated to withstand shock forces up to 1,000 G. This easily covers standard hunting calibres commonly used in Australia such as the .223 Remington, .308 Winchester, and .30-06 Springfield.

Does this riflescope require any Australian electrical safety certifications or battery compliance?

No electrical certifications or battery compliances are required because this is an entirely passive, non-powered optical device. It contains no internal electronics, illumination units, or batteries, meaning Australian 240V mains compatibility and SAA or RCM approvals do not apply.

3-9x40mm Riflescope - Sightron SI-32003

The Sightron S1 G2 Series 3-9x40mm Riflescope is a lightweight, variable-magnification hunting riflescope engineered for general utility and medium-range field applications. Built on a 1-inch (25.4 mm) one-piece main tube, it combines all-glass optical elements with Sightron’s MC-333 fully multi-coated lens formula to maximise light transmission and edge sharpness. The optic utilises a second focal plane (SFP) Mil-Dot reticle for holdovers and distance estimation, paired with low-profile capped turrets to avoid accidental shifts in rough terrain. With factory parallax permanently fixed at 100 yards (~91 m), it delivers reliable zero retention and clarity across medium engagement distances on standard hunting rifle setups.

Who is the Sightron S1 G2 Series 3-9x40mm Riflescope for?

Medium-range deer and feral pig hunters — offers a versatile 3-9x magnification range paired with a 40 mm objective lens that delivers a 40.4 ft field of view at 100 yards for rapid target acquisition in typical bush-to-clearing environments.
All-day mobile stalk hunters needing a lightweight optic — features an overall weight of just 13.6 oz mounted in a 1-inch tube, keeping hunting rifles balanced during long treks on foot.
General pest and predator controllers using standard calibres — utilizes precise 1/4 MOA click adjustments across 70 MOA of internal travel, built inside a shockproof housing rated to withstand 1,000 G of recoil.

Less suitable for: Shooting targets under 50 yards or precision long-range engagements past 400 to 500 yards; these shooting applications require a higher-magnification riflescope equipped with an adjustable objective or side parallax focus alongside exposed dialing turrets.
