What is the main tube diameter and what scope rings are required for mounting the Sightron S6 1-6x24?

The Sightron S6 1-6x24 features a 30mm one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum main tube, which clarifies any confusion regarding larger tube sizes. To mount this scope onto your rifle, you will need standard 30mm scope rings or a 30mm cantilever mount compatible with Picatinny or Weaver rails.

How does the fixed parallax perform during close-range hunting and outback bush shooting?

The parallax on the Sightron S6 1-6x24 is factory-fixed at 100 yards, providing a crystal-clear, parallax-free image for rapid target acquisition from point-blank range out to medium distances. While it excels for driven-boar and close-range deer hunting in heavy scrub, it is best suited for engagements within 400 metres where a true 1x to 6x magnification range shines.

Does this riflescope require any Australian electrical safety certifications like SAA or RCM?

No, electrical certifications such as SAA or RCM are not required for this product. The Sightron S6 is a passive optical device powered solely by a single internal CR2032 3V coin battery used strictly for reticle illumination, meaning it does not connect to 240V AC mains power.

What kind of recoil can the Sightron S6 1-6x24 handle in rugged Australian hunting environments?

The S6 1-6x24 is shock-rated to a robust 1,000 Gs, making it fully capable of withstanding heavy magnum centerfire rifle recoil and rapid semi-automatic bolt cycling. Additionally, the O-ring sealed and nitrogen-purged aluminum housing protects the internal optics against moisture and fog during demanding multi-day outback hunts.

LPVO Riflescope - Sightron SI-66000

The Sightron S6 1-6x24 SFP (SKU: 66000) is a low power variable optic engineered for rapid target engagement from point-blank distances out to medium ranges. Built around Japanese optical glass treated with MC-777 7-layer multicoatings, the scope pairs a true 1x base magnification with an illuminated German #4-style IR4A reticle in the second focal plane. The housing is machined from a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminum with a 30 mm maintube, and it integrates Sightron’s patented ExacTrack erector tube system to eliminate point-of-impact drift during adjustments.

Key Features

Optical Assembly: Japanese optical glass with MC-777 multicoating offers clear light transmission, paired with an illuminated IR4A reticle managed by an 11-position rheostat featuring off-switches between each level.
ExacTrack Erector System: Patented erector system maintains continuous point-of-pressure contact against the tracking components across the entire 130 to 140 MOA total windage and elevation adjustment travel.
Turret Controls: Capped, low-profile tactical turrets provide 1/2 MOA per click adjustments with 50 MOA of travel per full revolution, resettable to zero after sight-in.
Ruggedised Housing: Nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed for waterproof and fogproof performance, tested to a 1,000 G shock rating to handle severe magnum recoil.
Power Supply: Reticle illumination is powered by a single 3V CR2032 coin cell, housed in a self-contained compartment that operates independently of external power.

Who is the Sightron S6 1-6x24mm IR4A Riflescope for?

Driven-boar and close-range deer hunters — Delivers true 1x base magnification from a 1-6x optical zoom system paired with a 106.0-foot field of view at 100 yards, allowing this low power variable optic riflescope to facilitate rapid, two-eyes-open tracking on moving game inside dense timber.
3-Gun practical shooting competitors — Employs low-profile 1/2 MOA per click capped turrets with 50 MOA per revolution and a 1,000 Gs shock rating, ensuring this riflescope maintains mechanical zero through rigorous competition strings and semi-automatic cycling.

Less suitable for: Target shooting and pest control beyond 400 m; at these extended distances, high-magnification optics with adjustable parallax side-focus and fine ballistic holdover reticles are better suited.
