What rifle calibre limits apply when using the Spartan SPARDS0403R system in the field?

The manufacturer rates the locking interfaces of this Spartan system to securely handle hunting rifle calibres up to .300 Winchester Magnum without structural slippage. For heavier magnums like the .338 Lapua or unconstrained static benchrest shooting, rigid heavy-duty dedicated mounts are recommended instead.

Does the Spartan SPARDS0403R require any electrical compliance certifications for use in Australia?

No, this product is an entirely mechanical and passive mounting platform containing no electrical circuits, motors, or batteries. Therefore, 240V mains power, SAA, and RCM regulatory certifications are not applicable for its operation in the Australian bush or outback.

What are the exact weight and articulation specifications of the Davros Pro Head included in this SKU?

The Davros Pro Head weighs 255 grams (8.9 oz) and provides 360 degrees of pan alongside a 45-degree left and right cant. It features a UNC 3/8-inch-16 female thread with an included 1/4-inch-20 brass bushing adapter for seamless attachment to standard tripods and shooting sticks.

How does the ground contact system perform across varied Australian terrain conditions?

The legs are equipped with hardened tungsten carbide tips hidden beneath removable, tethered synthetic rubber boots. The rubber boots prevent slipping on hard or wet rocks, while peeling them back exposes the carbide spikes to grip securely into mud, ice, gravel, and timber.

Shooting Tripod Head - Spartan SPARDS0403R

The Spartan Davros Pro Head (Gen 1) is a modular shooting tripod head engineered from CNC-machined 7075-T7351 aerospace-grade aluminium to convert standard camera tripods and shooting sticks into stable rifle and optics platforms. Weighing 255 g (8.9 oz), this mechanical adapter incorporates a 12mm magnetic spigot receiver that integrates with Spartan Classic and Optics Adapters. Designed for rapid target acquisition in varied terrain, it provides smooth tracking and angular correction without adding unnecessary bulk to a mobile hunting kit.

Key Features

Who is the Spartan Davros Pro Head for?

Backcountry spot-and-stalk hunters — requires a lightweight 255 g modular shooting tripod head that mounts directly to existing trekking or camera supports via a UNC 3/8″-16 female thread to minimise pack weight on multi-day carries.
Mountain hunters — utilizes the 45° left/right cant to instantly level rifles on steep mountain inclines and declines where ground angles prevent standard horizontal rests.
Precision Rifle Series field match competitors — relies on the continuous 360° pan mechanism to smoothly transition across widely spaced targets across an open course of fire.

Less suitable for: Calibres heavier than .300 Winchester Magnum or static benchrest shooting where gear weight is unconstrained; direct-mounted heavy tactical bipods or dedicated steel benchrest platforms provide greater structural rigidity for heavy magnum recoil.
