What is the advantage of the Thrive X 3-9x40 PHR 3 model over the standard Thrive 3-9x40 Zeroplex?

The Thrive X model features ZeroTech's integrated, resettable BDC (Bullet Drop Compensator) elevation turret system instead of capped standard turrets. This allows you to dial in quick ballistic adjustments for extended distances in the field rather than relying solely on reticle holdovers.

What kind of mounting rings do I need to attach this riflescope to my rifle?

The ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40 features a robust 30 mm main tube diameter, so it requires standard 30 mm riflescope rings or one-piece mounts. Ensure you choose ring heights appropriate for your 40 mm objective lens and your rifle's barrel clearance.

How does this scope perform in harsh Australian outback conditions and wet weather?

This riflescope is built for rugged Australian environments, featuring an IPX7 waterproof immersion rating and nitrogen-purged internal sealing to prevent fogging across temperature extremes. Additionally, it is equipped with proprietary Weathershield lens coatings that actively shed water, dust, and oil.

What is the effective operating distance and parallax setting for the 3-9x40 PHR 3?

The parallax on this model is factory-fixed at 100 metres, making it optimized for general hunting and pest control inside 300 to 400 metres. For engagements consistently stretching beyond 400 to 500 metres, you would want to step up to a higher magnification optic with side parallax adjustment, such as the Thrive X 4-16x50.

Hunting Riflescope - ZeroTech THXB3940P3

The ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40 PHR 3 BDC Turret is a variable-power hunting riflescope engineered for bush stalking, field shooting, and pest management. Built around a 30 mm one-piece main tube crafted from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminium, it combines a 3-9x magnification range with a 40 mm objective lens. Optical performance is backed by fully multi-coated glass and Weathershield lens coatings, while an integrated resettable Bullet Drop Compensator (BDC) elevation dial allows hunters to make rapid vertical adjustments across variable distances without relying entirely on reticle holdovers.

Key Features

Resettable BDC Elevation Turret: Features precise 0.25 MOA per click adjustments with 60 MOA total internal elevation travel, allowing quick, dialled ballistic corrections in the field.
PHR 3 Reticle: Second focal plane reticle calibrated at 9x magnification, featuring a clean upper field of view, a fine floating centre aiming dot, and calibrated lower holdover stadia.
Rugged Weatherproof Construction: Nitrogen-purged and IPX7-rated for waterproof immersion, preventing internal fogging across extreme temperature shifts.
Broad Recoil Compatibility: Engineered to withstand heavy recoil impulses on standard 30 mm mounts, handling platforms from .17 HMR up to .300 Win Mag.
Forgiving Optical Window: Offers an eye relief of 88 mm to 97 mm and an exit pupil ranging from 13.0 mm down to 4.4 mm for rapid target acquisition.

Who is the ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40 PHR 3 BDC Turret for?

Australian bush stalkers — Requires a lightweight 570 g to 577 g carrying weight on walking rifles targeting medium game like deer, pigs, and goats, retaining a wide 12.9 m field of view at 100 m on 3x for quick shots in timber.
Pest and varmint hunters — Employs this variable-power hunting riflescope at 9x magnification alongside calibrated PHR 3 lower stadia and 0.25 MOA click adjustments to make swift, repeatable holdovers on small targets like foxes, feral cats, and rabbits.
Centrefire and rimfire field shooters — Utilises the robust 30 mm main tube with 60 MOA of internal elevation travel to safely mount and dial across calibres ranging from .17 HMR up to .300 Win Mag.

Less suitable for: Target engagement beyond 400 to 500 metres or precision disciplines requiring parallax adjustment inside 100 metres; shooters operating at these extended ranges are better served by a higher-magnification precision riflescope featuring an adjustable side parallax focus and greater than 60 MOA of internal elevation travel.
