What type of reticle does the Zerotech Thrive X 3-12x44mm (THX3124) feature, and is it illuminated?

This model features the non-illuminated Zeroplex reticle, which uses a clean, traditional duplex configuration without complex holdover trees. Because it lacks illumination, it is best suited for daylight and general dusk/dawn hunting rather than pitch-black spotlighting or dense dark timber.

Are the elevation turrets on the THX3124 exposed for tactical dialing or capped for field hunting?

The THX3124 comes equipped with low-profile capped elevation and windage turrets designed for set-and-forget zeroing. The protective caps prevent accidental adjustments from brush and harsh weather while out in rugged Australian bushland, and the dials can be easily coin-reset to zero.

What is the minimum parallax distance for this riflescope, and can it be used on short-range rimfire setups?

The scope features a side-focus parallax adjustment that dials down to 10 metres and extends all the way to infinity. This tight minimum focus distance makes it versatile enough for short-range rimfire pest control as well as mid-range centrefire big-game hunting out to 300 to 500 metres.

What kind of mounting rings do I need for this riflescope?

The Zerotech Thrive X 3-12x44mm features a robust 30 millimetre one-piece aircraft-grade aluminium main tube. You will need to pair it with standard 30 mm riflescope rings or mounting systems compatible with your specific rifle action and rail.

What electrical safety certifications or SAA approvals apply to this riflescope for the Australian market?

As a purely mechanical and passive optical glass riflescope requiring no batteries or electrical power, 240V compatibility, SAA approvals, and RCM marks are not applicable. However, it is fully backed by ZeroTech's Australian unconditional lifetime replacement warranty.

Hunting Riflescope - ZeroTech Thrive X THX3124

The ZeroTech Thrive X 3-12x44mm Riflescope is a variable-power hunting optic built around a 30 mm one-piece aircraft-grade aluminium main tube. Featuring a second focal plane, non-illuminated Zeroplex duplex reticle, this riflescope is engineered for mid-range hunting and vermin management in Australian terrain. It incorporates fully multi-coated optics with Weathershield protective lens coatings, delivering high light transmission alongside water, fog, and recoil resistance for field use on standard centrefire and rimfire rifles.

Key Features

Protected Adjustments: Low-profile capped elevation and windage turrets prevent accidental dial movement through dense brush while providing 0.25 MOA click values with coin-resettable zero indicators.
Versatile Focus Range: Side parallax adjustment dials smoothly from 10 metres to infinity, supporting both close-range pest management and extended centrefire targeting.
Optical Clarity and Protection: Weathershield lens coatings shed external moisture, dirt, and oils, working in tandem with anti-reflective glass coatings for reliable contrast during dawn and dusk.
Uncluttered Sight Picture: The traditional Zeroplex wire reticle presents a clean target view without complex sub-tensions or holdover trees, speeding up target acquisition on moving game.

Who is the ZeroTech Thrive X 3-12x44 for?

Australian big-game hunters — provides a rugged 30 mm main tube and 60 MOA of internal adjustment, paired with a 44 mm objective lens and capped turrets that prevent accidental dial shifts while tracking deer, pigs, or goats through scrub.
Pest and varmint controllers — utilises a 3-12x variable magnification range and a close-focus side parallax that adjusts down to 10 metres, allowing sharp target resolution on close-range rabbits or mid-range foxes and feral dogs out to 300–500 metres.

Less suitable for: Long-range dial-to-shoot engagements exceeding 500 to 600 metres (opt for an optic with exposed tactical turrets and reticle subtensions), nocturnal spotlighting in dense cover (choose an illuminated reticle riflescope), or ultralight alpine hunting where riflescopes under 450 g with 1-inch tubes are preferred to offset the 607 g carry weight.
