The Norma Whitetail .30-30 Winchester 150gr Soft Point ammunition (MPN: 20177672) is engineered for medium game hunting and feral pest management at short-to-medium bush ranges. Featuring a 150-grain (9.7 g) jacketed soft point flat-base projectile with an exposed lead tip, this factory load generates a muzzle velocity of 2,362 fps (720 m/s) and 1,858 ft-lbs (2,514 J) of muzzle energy. The bullet profile is engineered for consistent cycling in tubular magazine lever-action platforms while delivering rapid expansion and deep vital-zone penetration.

Key Features

• Controlled Terminal Expansion: The exposed lead tip and expanding lead core provide dependable knockdown power and uniform energy transfer on medium game.
• Optimised Trajectory: Engineered with a 0.217 G1 ballistic coefficient and a manufacturer-recommended Most Recommended Distance (MRD) zero of 140 metres.
• Downrange Retained Energy: Retains 1,987 fps and 1,315 ft-lbs at 100 metres, maintaining 1,652 fps and 909 ft-lbs out to 200 metres.
• Quality Components: Loaded in premium reloadable brass cases with non-corrosive Boxer primers for uniform chambering and ignition.
• Platform Versatility: Designed to feed and cycle reliably in standard tubular magazine lever-action rifles, single-shot rifles, and bolt-action firearms chambered in .30-30 Winchester.

Who is the Norma Whitetail .30-30 Win 150gr SP for?

• Tubular Magazine Lever-Action Hunters — Requires a safe, flat-base soft point projectile designed to cycle through tubular magazines while delivering a muzzle velocity of 2,362 fps in .30-30 Winchester hunting ammunition.
• Short-to-Medium Bush Stalkers — Operates within 150 to 200 metres on medium game, utilising a 150-grain bullet with a 0.217 G1 ballistic coefficient that delivers 1,315 ft-lbs of kinetic energy at 100 metres.

Less suitable for: Long-range hunting beyond 200 metres where kinetic energy drops to 909 ft-lbs and bullet drop increases significantly (-903 mm at 300 metres with a 100-metre zero); open-country scenarios at extended distances are better served by higher-velocity, higher-BC centerfire cartridges such as .308 Winchester or .30-06 Springfield.
