Norma TIPSTRIKE .308 Winchester 150gr ammunition is engineered for short-to-medium range medium and large game hunting. Built with a polymer tip, a thin forward jacket, and an internal mechanical lead-lock ring, this flat-base projectile initiates rapid expansion upon impact while keeping the core anchored to the jacket base. This construction ensures high energy transfer and knockdown power across vital organs without premature disintegration through bone or heavy muscle. Loaded in reloadable Norma brass cases with non-corrosive primers, it produces a factory-tested muzzle velocity of 860 m/s (2,822 fps) and 3,587 J (2,651 ft-lbs) of muzzle energy from a 610 mm (24-inch) test barrel.

Key Features

• Rapid Mushrooming Construction: Polymer tip and thin forward jacket drive immediate expansion on impact for terminal energy release.
• Mechanical Lead-Lock: Secures the lead core to the jacket base to retain structural integrity through muscle and bone.
• Flat Trajectory Profile: Maintains a 170 m (189 yards) most recommended zero (MRD) with retained velocity of 611 m/s at 300 m.
• Quality Components: Standard Norma reloadable brass cases and reliable, non-corrosive primers.

Who is the Norma Tipstrike 308 Win 150gr for?

• Medium to large game hunters — Delivers rapid hydrostatic shock and terminal expansion on deer, feral pigs, and goats using a 150-grain (9.7 g) projectile that retains 2,302 J of energy at 200 m with an optimal 170 m most recommended zero.
• Driven hunt and running pest management shooters — Provides immediate energy dump and high knockdown power on fast-moving game with a flat-shooting 860 m/s (2,822 fps) muzzle velocity and a 0.347 G1 ballistic coefficient tailored for medium-range engagements.

Less suitable for: Dedicated long-range shooting past 400 to 500 metres where high-BC boat-tail match or long-range hunting bullets provide superior wind resistance, or for thick-skinned, heavy-boned game where deep-penetrating bonded bullets or monolithic copper solids are required to prevent surface fragmentation.
