The Sellier & Bellot 6.5x55 SE SP ammunition (model V330572) is engineered for medium game hunting and range sight-in. Loaded with a 140-grain (9.10-gram) semi-jacketed soft point projectile, this factory cartridge combines an exposed lead nose with a copper-alloy jacket to deliver uniform mushrooming and deep terminal penetration. Built in reloadable, Boxer-primed non-corrosive brass casings with an overall cartridge length of 75.30 mm, it generates a muzzle velocity of 793 m/s and 2,861 Joules of muzzle energy from a standard 600 mm factory test barrel.

Key Features

• Controlled Terminal Expansion: The semi-jacketed soft point bullet uses an exposed lead tip to initiate consistent expansion, while the engineered jacket retains weight to drive deep wound channels through light-to-medium bone.
• High Sectional Density: The 140-grain 6.5 mm projectile design provides deep penetration across medium-game hunting ranges from 0 to 250 metres relative to its recoil profile.
• Reloadable Brass Cases: Manufactured with Boxer-primed, non-corrosive brass casings to facilitate case longevity and handloading after firing.
• Standardized Packaging: Supplied in boxes of 20 rounds per carton.

Who is the S&B Sellier & Bellot 6.5x55 140 Grain Sp Ammo 20 Rd for?

• Medium game hunters targeting fallow deer, red deer, pigs, and goats — requires the 2,861 Joules of muzzle energy and controlled mushrooming of this 6.5x55mm soft point hunting ammunition to achieve deep terminal penetration within practical ranges up to 250 metres.
• Owners of firearms chambered in 6.5x55mm SE Swedish Mauser — requires factory-loaded 6.5x55mm soft point hunting ammunition achieving 793 m/s muzzle velocity and built to standard 75.30 mm cartridge overall length for reliable cycling and range zeroing in modern sporting rifles or vintage surplus actions.

Less suitable for: Long-range shooting beyond 300 metres, where flat-base soft points shed velocity faster than high-BC boat-tail match or polymer-tipped hunting rounds, or for heavy-boned large game like sambar deer, scrub bulls, and buffalo, which require bonded-core projectiles, monolithic solid copper bullets, or larger calibres such as .30-06 or 9.3×62; it is also completely incompatible with firearms chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, or .260 Remington.
