The Sellier & Bellot Special Slug 12/70 (Model V051732) is a full-bore 12-gauge shotgun cartridge engineered for smoothbore barrels. Loaded in a standard 70 mm (2¾”) hull with a 12.5 mm brass head, this ammunition fires a single 32-gram (approx. 494-grain) lead projectile paired with an integrated polymer stabilizer wad. This rear-attached wad acts as a shuttlecock tail to maintain straight aerodynamic flight without requiring rifled choke tubes or specialized rifled barrels. Reaching a muzzle velocity of 420 m/s (approx. 1,378 fps), it delivers flat, consistent performance across standard match and hunting distances up to 50–70 metres.

Key Features

• Integrated Stabilizer Wad: Utilises an attached rear polymer wad that stabilizes the 32g rifled slug in flight through smoothbore shotgun barrels.
• Standard 70 mm Hull: Built to standard 2¾” (70 mm) uncrimped dimensions to ensure reliable feeding and cycling through both 70 mm and 76 mm (3”) shotgun chambers.
• Choke Versatility: Engineered for safe and accurate cycling through standard open shotgun constrictions, including Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, and Modified chokes.
• Consistent Velocity: Produces a factory-rated muzzle velocity of 420 m/s to provide predictable points of impact during rapid strings of fire.
• Standard Box Packaging: Supplied in 25-round retail boxes, matching the volume requirements of sporting clay disciplines and practical match stages.

Who is the S&B Sellier & Bellot 12 Gauge 2¾” Special Slug 32g Ammo for?

• Practical shotgun and IPSC dynamic shooting competitors — cycling standard 70 mm (2¾”) chambers with a 420 m/s muzzle velocity that delivers flat, fast target transitions across steel stages within 50 to 70 metres using this 12 Gauge shotgun slug ammunition.
• Hunters targeting feral pigs and deer at close range — delivering a solid 32-gram lead payload through smoothbore shotguns, providing high terminal energy transfer inside timber and brush under 70 metres where centerfire rifles are impractical.

Less suitable for: Engagement distances beyond 70 to 100 metres where steep ballistic drop makes dedicated sabot slugs fired from fully rifled barrels or centerfire hunting rifles better suited, or firearms fitted with Full or Extra Full chokes where solid projectiles should not be fired.
