What rings do I need to mount the ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40 onto my rifle?

This scope features a 30 mm main tube diameter, meaning you will need standard 30 mm scope mounting rings compatible with your specific rifle's mounting rail, whether that is a Picatinny, Weaver, or rifle-specific dovetail base. It is important to select the correct ring height to ensure proper clearance for the 40 mm objective lens against your barrel.

How does the fixed 100-metre parallax affect close-range shooting on rabbits or hares?

The Thrive X 3-9x40 has its parallax fixed at 100 metres, which is optimized for general Australian bush and paddock hunting. When taking shots on targets inside 15 to 20 metres, such as close-range rimfire pest control, you may notice slight focus softness or parallax error as you move your eye behind the eyepiece.

Does this optic require any batteries or electronic compliance certificates for use in Australia?

No, the Thrive X 3-9x40 is a purely mechanical, non-illuminated optical system containing no electronic components, batteries, or charging circuitry. Consequently, electronic certifications like SAA, RCM, or 240V power compliance are entirely inapplicable to this product.

How well does the scope handle harsh outback environmental conditions and heavy bush carry?

Weighing approximately 540 g bare, the scope is light enough for long walking stalk hunts without noticeably fatiguing your carry rifle. It is IPX7 waterproof-rated and nitrogen-purged to prevent internal fogging, while the exterior lenses feature Weathershield hydrophobic coatings to shed moisture and dust during rugged Australian field use.

Hunting Rifle Scope - ZeroTech THX3940

The ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40 Zeroplex is a variable-power hunting riflescope designed for straightforward optical aiming and pest control in Australian field conditions. Constructed on a one-piece 30 mm aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminium main tube, this optic combines a 3-9x magnification range with a 40 mm objective lens. It features fully multi-coated glass with an exterior hydrophobic Weathershield coating and houses a non-illuminated Zeroplex reticle set in the second focal plane. With capped, finger-adjustable turrets delivering 0.25 MOA click values and an internal adjustment range of 60 MOA for both elevation and windage, it provides a stable, sealed optical platform for walking stalks and standard paddock shooting.

Key Features

30 mm Aluminium Tube: Built from a single piece of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium to provide structural rigidity and shockproof recoil resistance across rimfire and standard centerfire cartridges.
Multi-Coated Optical Glass: Features fully multi-coated lenses treated with a hydrophobic Weathershield exterior coating to shed moisture and maintain light transmission in field environments.
Capped Hunting Turrets: Finger-adjustable adjustments track at 0.25 MOA per click with 60 MOA total elevation and 60 MOA windage travel, protected by aluminium caps against accidental shifts.
Weatherproof Construction: IPX7 waterproof-rated and nitrogen-purged with internal O-ring seals to prevent internal lens fogging and moisture ingress.
Standard Eye Relief: Delivers 88 mm to 97 mm of eye relief, paired with an exit pupil ranging from 13.0 mm at 3x down to 4.4 mm at 9x.

Who is the ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40 Zeroplex for?

Rimfire rabbit and hare shooters — relies on the 3-9x variable magnification and 40 mm objective lens to acquire small varmints quickly at typical field distances using .22 LR, .22 WMR, or .17 HMR rifles without excessive optical bulk.
Medium-game and paddock pest eradication hunters — benefits from the 540 g bare weight, 30 mm main tube diameter, and 0.25 MOA capped turrets on walking carry setups chambered in .223 Rem, .243 Win, or .308 Win across scrub and open terrain.

Less suitable for: Target engagements inside 15 m due to fixed 100 m parallax focus softness, distances beyond 300 m that demand dedicated dialing turrets or bullet-drop compensation reticles, and ultralight mountain hunting setups requiring a lighter 1-inch tube riflescope.
