What kind of performance can I expect from the ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40mm in low-light Australian bush conditions?

The 40mm objective lens combined with fully multi-coated optics and Weathershield lens coatings delivers excellent light transmission and clarity during dawn and dusk. The uncluttered German No. 4 style G4 reticle ensures high contrast against dark scrub, allowing for rapid target acquisition when hunting in shaded gullies or open paddocks.

Is the fixed parallax on the Thrive X 3-9x40 an issue for close-range rimfire vermin shooting?

The scope features a factory-fixed parallax that is typically optimized around 100 metres, making it exceptionally well-suited for general rimfire and centrefire hunting from 15 metres out to 350 metres. However, if you plan on doing extreme close-up rimfire work under 15 metres, you may experience slight parallax shift and would be better served by a model featuring adjustable side focus.

What scope rings or mounts do I need to attach this riflescope to my rifle?

The ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40 features a robust 30 millimetre one-piece main tube requiring standard 30mm scope rings or mounts. With an objective bell outer diameter of 47.6 mm, you will want to select ring heights that ensure proper clearance over your rifle's barrel and bolt handle.

What kind of recoil and environmental durability does this optic offer for rugged outback hunting?

Engineered for harsh Australian environments, the scope is built into a heavy-duty 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium body that is O-ring sealed and nitrogen-purged to achieve an IPX7 waterproof and fogproof rating. It is thoroughly shockproof and recoil-tested to handle everything from standard .22 LR rimfire up to heavy magnum centrefire calibres like the .300 Win Mag.

Hunting Riflescope - ZeroTech THXB3940G

The ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40mm Riflescope is a passive optical aiming system designed for close- to mid-range hunting applications. Built on a 30 mm one-piece aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminium main tube, this optic combines a second focal plane G4 German No. 4 style reticle with a calibrated BDC elevation turret offering 0.25 MOA click values. With a 40 mm objective lens treated with Weathershield hydrophobic coatings and an IPX7 waterproof housing, it provides reliable target acquisition across standard stalking ranges from 15 metres out to 350 metres.

Key Features

30 mm One-Piece Aluminium Tube: Machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium to maintain structural integrity across heavy centrefire recoil.
G4 Reticle with BDC Turret: Features an uncluttered German No. 4 second focal plane reticle paired with a rapid-dialling elevation turret offering 60 MOA total internal adjustment.
Weathershield Lens Coating: Proprietary multi-coating system repels moisture, dust, and dirt from the external lens surfaces.
Sealed Optical Assembly: Nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed to an IPX7 rating, withstanding water submersion up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
Balanced Hunting Weight: Weighs approximately 540 g to 570 g to minimise top-heavy rifle handling during extended field carry.

Who is the ZeroTech Thrive X 3-9x40 for?

Rimfire vermin hunters — benefits from the low-end 3x magnification and wide 12.9 m field of view at 100 metres for fast framing on mobile pests like rabbits and hares beyond 15 metres.
Light-to-medium centrefire hunters — utilises the 60 MOA internal adjustment range and 9x upper magnification limit to dial elevation for shots on foxes, feral goats, pigs, and deer out to approximately 350 metres without exceeding a 570 g carry weight.

Less suitable for: Target engagements beyond 400 metres where higher magnification and adjustable side parallax are required, or extreme close-up rimfire work under 15 metres where fixed factory parallax limits reticle focus; these applications are better served by higher-magnification riflescopes featuring dedicated adjustable parallax focus.
