The Sellier & Bellot Special Slug 20/67.5 21g is a dedicated solid-projectile shotgun cartridge designed for smoothbore 20-gauge firearms. Built around a 67.5 mm (nominal 2 5/8”) hull, this ammunition propels a 21-gram (~324-grain) single lead slug equipped with an integrated proprietary polymer base wad that stabilizes the projectile in flight. It delivers practical accuracy and stopping power for medium game hunting and target shooting at close to moderate woods ranges without requiring fully rifled barrels.

Key Features

• Integrated Wad Stabilizer: Features an aerodynamic polymer stabilizer that remains attached to the 21g lead slug in flight, maintaining stability out of smoothbore barrels.
• 67.5 mm Hull Sizing: Engineered with a 67.5 mm case length, ensuring broad mechanical compatibility across 67.5 mm, 70 mm (2 3/4"), and 76 mm (3") shotgun chambers.
• Choke Compatibility: Designed for optimal performance in smoothbore barrels using open chokes such as Cylinder (C) and Improved Cylinder (IC).
• Controlled Packaging: Supplied in compact 5-round boxes suited for field carrying and organized range use.

Who is the Sellier & Bellot 20 Gauge 2 5/8” Special Slug 21g Ammo for?

• Medium Game Hunters — delivers a 21g lead slug designed for close-range stopping power on feral pigs, deer, and feral goats at working distances within 50 metres using 20-gauge smoothbore platforms.
• Dynamic Shotgun Competitors — offers a specialized 20-gauge slug loaded in a compact 67.5 mm hull, providing manageable recoil and stable flight through smoothbore competition barrels across 5-round stages.

Less suitable for: Long-range shooting beyond 70–80 metres where projectile drop increases significantly, which requires transitioning to a centerfire rifle calibre; or vintage 20-gauge shotguns with chambers shorter than 67.5 mm, which require shorter, low-pressure sub-65 mm shotshells.
