Is the reticle on the ZeroTech Thrive X 3-12x44 PHR 3 illuminated for low-light hunting?

No, the PHR 3 reticle on this model is non-illuminated, making it optimised for standard daylight through twilight hunting conditions. If you frequently operate in pitch-black conditions or use front-mounted night vision clips, you may want to consider a model with an illuminated reticle from the Thrive HD series instead.

What kind of rings or mounts do I need to attach this riflescope to my rifle?

The ZeroTech Thrive X 3-12x44 features a 30 mm main tube diameter, so you will need to purchase standard 30 mm scope rings or mounts. Ensure that the rings match your rifle's receiver rail type, such as Weaver or Picatinny rails, to secure proper alignment.

How close can I focus the parallax on this scope for pest control or rimfire use?

This scope features a side parallax adjustment that focuses down from 10 metres all the way to infinity. This wide adjustment range makes it exceptionally versatile for close-range pest control on rimfire or air rifles, as well as mid-range deer stalking.

Does this analogue riflescope require any Australian electrical certifications or battery compliance?

No, as a purely mechanical and optical riflescope without internal electronics, illumination, or rechargeable batteries, electrical certifications like SAA/RCM and 240V mains compatibility are not applicable. It is designed purely for reliable outback mechanical performance without electronic failure points.

Hunting Riflescope - ZeroTech THXB3124P3

The ZeroTech Thrive X 3-12x44 PHR 3 BDC Turret is a second-focal-plane (SFP) hunting riflescope engineered for short- to mid-range shooting applications. Built on a 30 mm one-piece aircraft-grade aluminium body, it combines a versatile 3–12x magnification range with a 44 mm objective lens. The scope features a dedicated BDC elevation turret and an MOA-based PHR 3 reticle with a floating centre cross, calibrated at 12x magnification for rapid drop compensation in the field. Fully multi-coated lenses with Weathershield protective exterior coating and nitrogen gas purging deliver waterproof, fog-proof, and shockproof performance across standard Australian hunting calibres.

Who is the ZeroTech Thrive X 3-12x44 PHR 3 BDC for?

Medium-game deer stalkers — The 607 g unmounted weight provides a balanced, carry-friendly footprint for all-day mobile hunting, while the 3-12x magnification range and 44 mm objective lens deliver reliable clarity and practical target acquisition from dense timber out to typical mid-range engagement distances.
Pest and predator eradication shooters — The side parallax focusing down to 10 metres allows this SFP hunting riflescope to eliminate optical parallax error during close-range rimfire or air rifle pest control, while dialling seamlessly up to 12x magnification for longer centrefire shots in open paddocks.

Less suitable for: Long-range target engagements past 600–800 metres, which are better served by a first-focal-plane optic with higher 5-25x or 4-20x magnification and exposed zero-stop turrets; additionally, pitch-black night hunting without spotlights or with forward-mounted night vision clips is better served by an optic featuring an illuminated reticle.
